Who we are
This site is published by Fabrice G., a private individual living in France. You can reach us at hello@cooount.com.
There is no account. The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers and text you type are not stored on our server.
Data stored in your browser
Some information is saved in your browser’s local storage, on your own device: the values of your calculations and the options you chose, the currency, the page color, the sound setting, the text in the word counter and your best score in the quiz on the home page. It is never sent to us. Reset brings a calculator back to its starting values and Clear empties the word counter; to delete everything, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Sharing a result
When you use Share, the image is drawn in your browser and the link contains the numbers of that calculation, so that it reopens the same result. Anyone who receives the link can see those numbers. For the word counter, only the counts are shared, never your text. Nothing is shared unless you choose to.
Microphone
The microphone is used only when you press the microphone button, and your browser asks for your permission first. Speech recognition is done by your browser, which may send the audio to its provider (for example Google, in Chrome). We do not receive or keep any recording.
Your ideas
The “Share an idea” button opens your own email app with your message. If you send it, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to read and answer you.
Audience measurement
We count visits in two ways.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by our host, counts page views without cookies and without identifying anyone. It keeps only overall figures (pages, countries, type of device).
- Google Analytics, when it is turned on, loads only if you click “OK” in the small bar shown on your first visit. It then sets cookies (_ga) to recognize a visit and show us how the calculators are used. The data is processed by Google Ireland Limited. It is not used for advertising or to identify you.
You can change your mind at any time: change my choice.
Advertising
There is no advertising on the site at the moment. Later, the site will be funded by advertising from Google AdSense. This page will be updated before any ad is added, and your consent will be asked where the law requires it.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Like any host, Cloudflare processes technical data, such as IP addresses and server logs, to deliver the pages and protect the site against abuse.
The fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, a service of Google, which receives your IP address in order to send them to your browser.
Widgets
Calculators embedded on other websites with our widget carry no ads, no analytics and no cookies. The numbers typed into them stay in the visitor’s browser.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. Since the numbers you type stay on your device, most of your data never reaches us.
To exercise your rights, write to hello@cooount.com. You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
