Purpose of the site
This site offers free, simple calculators for everyday use, such as percentages, discounts, VAT, margins, loan payments, compound interest, unit prices, tips, take-home pay, hourly pay, proportions, averages and word counts. The calculators are free to use and no account is needed. The site will be funded by advertising.
Use of the calculators
Calculations are made in your browser with the formulas shown on each page. Results are estimates for everyday use. They are not financial, tax, legal or accounting advice, and they do not replace a payslip, an invoice, a loan offer or the advice of a professional.
The VAT and take-home pay calculators use the rates in force on the date shown on each page, taken from official sources listed on the page. We check them whenever an official change is announced, and at least once a quarter, but a rate can change before the site is updated. The loan calculator does not include insurance, fees or taxes, and the compound interest calculator is before tax and fees and does not predict any return.
The site is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it available and accurate, but we cannot guarantee that it will be free of errors or interruptions. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site or of its results.
Independence
This site is not affiliated with any government, tax authority, bank or lender. Names of public bodies and websites mentioned as sources (for example GOV.UK or HM Revenue & Customs) are cited only to show where the rates come from.
Intellectual property
The design, texts, graphics and code of this site are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy or reuse them, in whole or in part, without written permission from the publisher. Embedding a calculator with the code provided by the widget maker is allowed.
Trademarks mentioned on the site (for example the names of website builders or note-taking apps) belong to their owners. The site is not affiliated with them.
